The regular meeting of the Village of Bishop Hill Board was held at the Municipal Bldg. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Funke at 6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Mike Funke, Patrick Light, Lisa Nordstrom, Ben Strand, Mike Keup, Sharon Wexell, & Terri Wigant were all present. Jim Nolan, Amanda Laub were absent.
MINUTES: Light motioned to accept the December minutes, seconded by Nordstrom. Voice vote, motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Nordstrom motioned to accept the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Light. Voice vote, motion carried.
PAY BILLS: Strand motioned to pay all bills, seconded by Keup. Voice vote, motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS:
correct, however meter for well #1 was not correct. Whittington was getting prices for a new one. Peerless Co. pulled the pump, it was o.k. and no problem with the electrical. Rock River electrician has not checked the electrical and the VFD at this time. Whittington and Funke said we can put in the original pump that was too small and if there is still a problem with something, it will ruin that pump instead of a brand new one. Funke said he didn’t know what to do about our sidewalks, he was hoping that Darren Frank would have gotten it done by the Colony Inn down to P. L.’s. this fall. He has the template and the dye color; it would be nice if he could work with us to eventually get all the sidewalks matching. Wigant said Dalton Whittington said he would be interested in bidding the sidewalk work. The Blind Drive and speed limit sign was installed at the end of W. Main St. by the Township. We still need to install the Bjorkland St./N. Bishop Hill St. sign on the corner of the park. Continuing the tourism topic from the December meeting, Nordstrom made a motion to donate $200 to the Henry County Tourism board, seconded by Strand. Voice vote, motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Strand said if we put an ad for mowing bids in the February newspapers, we could vote on the bids at the March 5th meeting and be ready for the mowing season. Wigant said she would put an ad in the Prairie News and anywhere else she can find to place an ad in February.
Wexell stated we have had 27 people look at our Village Website. Wigant said the Board received an email from the Henry County Tourism director about a T-Mobile grant for small towns. Wigant asked the Board if it would be okay if she tried to get the grant for sidewalks and colony flagpole. Wigant thought she would ask T-Mobiler about putting a booster antenna on our water tower. The Board said Wigant should try for the grant.
There was no further business, Nordstrom motioned to adjourn, seconded by Strand. Voice vote, motion carried.
